Spanish market | Connecting Ecosystems: Spain-China Collaboration Opportunities in Energy Storage
On July 22, 2026, the China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) co-hosted this international webinar “Connecting Ecosystems: Spain-China Collaboration Opportunities in Energy Storage,” together with BatteryPlat. The online session brought together Chinese and Spanish energy storage stakeholders to promote mutual understanding and explore cooperation opportunities across market intelligence, technology development, R&D, business models, and international collaboration.
As one of the featured Chinese participants, CNESA shared insights into China’s energy storage market development, policy trends, industrial progress, and value assessment practices for large-scale energy storage. CNESA’s presentation, “Value, Revenue and Carbon Assessment of Large-Scale Energy Storage in China,” introduced key perspectives on how China is evaluating the commercial, system-level, and carbon-related value of energy storage projects.
The webinar also featured participation from IEECAS, a research institute affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as well as AEPIBAL, which presented the Spanish energy storage market from the perspective of industry and battery-sector companies. Through this multi-party exchange, participants gained a clearer view of China’s rapidly evolving energy storage ecosystem, Spain’s market context, and potential pathways for cross-border cooperation.
CNESA sees Spain as an important European market for energy storage cooperation. As renewable energy penetration continues to increase, both China and Spain face growing demand for flexible resources, grid integration solutions, storage business models, and technology innovation. This webinar provided a practical platform for connecting industrial, research, and policy-oriented resources between the two countries.
Looking ahead, CNESA will continue to strengthen international exchanges with European partners, support knowledge-sharing on energy storage market mechanisms and project value assessment, and help Chinese and global stakeholders identify concrete opportunities for cooperation in the energy storage sector.
