The global energy transition toward clean and low-carbon development is accelerating, and energy storage has become a key technology supporting the construction of a new power system. However, challenges such as lithium-ion battery thermal runaway, system integration quality, safety, and reliability remain critical issues restricting the industry’s high-quality growth.
To address these concerns, the 5th Energy Storage Safety Forum, together with the seminar of the national key R&D project “International Cooperation on Key Technologies for Safety Evaluation of Lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems”, will be held in Tianjin on October 16–17, 2025. The event is jointly organized by the China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA), the Tianjin Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the National Innovation Platform for Industry-Education Integration of Energy Storage Technology at Tianjin University.
This year’s forum coincides with the 130th anniversary of Tianjin University and the 60th anniversary of the Tianjin Fire Research Institute, offering an important opportunity to build a platform for technical exchange, strengthen cooperation among industry, academia, and research, and promote safe and sustainable development of the energy storage industry.
