Following the release of Document No. 136 on market-oriented energy reform, CNESA initiated joint studies with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Grid Energy Research Institute, and other partners. The research focuses on market-based capacity compensation mechanisms, power system flexibility, and the economic role of energy storage in supporting the clean energy transition.

Industry Research

CNESA conducts in-depth research on energy storage industry trends, market mechanisms, and policy impacts to support data-driven decision-making across the sector.

Current studies include analysis of storage technology characteristics and costs, power system capacity demand, and cost gap assessments for new energy projects. The outcomes of this research provide scientific evidence for policymaking, helping establish fair and transparent market participation mechanisms for various energy storage technologies.

Through continuous collaboration with academic, industrial, and governmental partners, CNESA aims to accelerate technology innovation, improve industry data transparency, and promote a sustainable and competitive energy storage market ecosystem.
